EP1 - Got Somme: An Introduction
'Got Somme' is a podcast for wine lovers who know nothing about what's in their glass.
Our mission is to find the best bottle of $30 wine using Master Sommelier Carlos' ungodly talent with fermented grapes.
Carlos will aim to teach a novice wine enthusiast Angus how to discern a good wine from a bad and empower listeners with a skill set good enough to choose the table wine next time you have friends over.
The first wine Jim Barry 2021 Watervale Riesling which we purchased from Dan Murphy's: Jim Barry Watervale Rielsing

EP2 - Jim Barry Watervale Riesling
"It's a very classic wine region for the grape variety, Clare Valley in South Australia. It is a family owned producer, all the family still works in the vineyards making the wine, so I thought that was a very nice start" - Carlo Santos MS
This episode we showcase what 'Got Somme' is all about! A Master Sommelier helping us to distinguish smells and tastes of affordable wine as we search for the best $30 bottle available in the country.
Carlos will also give a food pairing with every episode and we never expected what he would match this Riesling with!

EP3 - Stonier Pinot Noir
"It's drinking very well even though it is young, it could go another 2-3 years. Perhaps those aromas will evolve even more and it will be more pretty and approachable." - Carlos Santos MS
Carlos is one of less than 300 Master Sommelier's in the world helping us to distinguish smells and tastes of affordable wine as we search for the best $30 bottle available in the country.

EP4 - Yering Station 'Little Yering' Chardonnay
"Yering Station is a very old winery dating back 1838 and I like their wines, I think (Little Yering Chardonnay) it's well made and I think it's fair for the price. I think it's a good $20 bottle of wine." - Carlos Santos MS
Carlos is one of less than 300 Master Sommelier's in the world helping us to distinguish smells and tastes of affordable wine as we search for the best $30 bottle available in the country. In this episode he teaches us the importance of oak and why most bottles of wine in the world don't use it!

EP5 - Rosé: Shadowfax 'Minnow'
Did you know that a Master Sommelier has the ability to detect Peaches & Cream lollies in wine?
Carlos Santos MS takes us through a tasting of a bottle of Rosé that is just right for an Australian summer, but is it the best under $30 on the market?
-
EP6 - Cab Sav: Wynn's Coonawarra Estate
"Can I tell you what I think I'm going to smell? Pepper!" - Angus
"Oooooohhhh I wouldn't say pepper I would say you're smelling..." - Carlos
Never would I have expected the answer to the above from Master Sommelier Carlos Santos. The heaviest wine we've tasted on Got Somme gets a full body check up in this episode including the staining tears on the glass, the deep body and intense aromas. If you like your reds you're going to love learning more about them.

EP7 - Sauvignon Blanc: Dog Point Vineyard
Is Master Sommelier Carlos Santos capable of making "Savvy B" cool once more?
Everyone used to bring Sauvignon Blanc to dinner parties ten years ago... and then we stopped. Why?
What is it so powerful on the nose? Why does Angus smell gasoline?
In this episode of Got Somme, everything is explained.

EP8 - Shiraz Cabernet: Lake Breeze 'Bernoota'
"Tannins - It's very important in his wine. Is like the backbone" - Carlos
Angus raves about this listener suggested bottle of red wine but does Master Sommelier Carlos Santos agree?
